Hi Cedric! First let me say I'm sorry to read the attack you got on you post about getting married in Mexico in August. I think some have lost compassion or understanding of those of us that have just started the process. Our 129-F was filed in Jan 2019, since then we just wait. Truly a test in patience, but that is what you need. With all of the research I did on K-1 vs CR-1 we decided K was the best option. Although a bit more expensive it is also faster. If you and Karen are like Jason and I you just want to be together asap! I believe that is partially why you want to marry in August. Everyone is right though...you would have to withdraw your 129-F thus forfeiting the $535 filing fee and start over with the CR-1, I don't know as much about those because I've concentrated on our K...but I do know those visa's are taking a year or more for processing and although married you still wouldn't be living together. My suggestion...you have started the K-1, continue with that. Perhaps you could plan a Christmas wedding, what better present could you ask for?!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
