Comments : Brought Sidd home to the US finally!! He entered on June 9th in the morning with me. As of todays date 7-28-22, no social security card yet but his GC was mailed to us this morning. This past Saturday Social Security sent him a letter that said they couldn’t issue him a SS# cuz DHS couldn’t verify his documents and on Monday we were notified that his GC was being produced so we’ll make another long trip to our SS office once he’s got his GC to hopefully have them fix whatever the problem is, DHS obviously verified his documents if they issued him a GC lol.
The only immigration/legal obstacle we’ve run into since Sidd left India is this mess with getting him a SS#. He’s got a wonderful job that he absolutely loves & works for a guy that’s quickly become a great friend and mentor to him.

POE Date : 2022-06-09
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Husband went through the same border security line I was in, they asked him what his address will be, stamped his passport and he was good to go. We both went back 2x to ask the Officers if there was something else he was supposed to do cuz we thought there was a separate line for 1st time entry & they would take him for an interview but they said nope, he’s good to go. Was almost scary how nothing we have heard others go through when entered happened to us lol.
Everyone we dealt with in Chicago when Sidd got here was extremely awesome, talkative & joking with us.

Event Description
Review Date : February 7, 2022
Embassy Review : Greetings Everyone,

My Interview date was 4th Feb 2022 and time was 8:00am. And here's my experience of my interview.

I reached there by 07:20AM. Security outside said they will make an announcement for people whose interview is scheduled for 8:00am. After 10 mins they called all the people who had interview scheduled at 08:00AM. Security guards check your Interview Letter and Passport. Before I entered the Building, I stored my Mobile Phone as the security provide you services to store your electronic devices for 50 Rs. After my interview, I collected my Phone.

After entering the building, first there was Security check of my documents and myself. After going through that, Inside there's a person waiting who asks for your Interview Letter and lets you get inside the Office. This is the Office where the Interview were about to take place.

After going inside the Office, I took a token, The Lady who was giving token asked me in which language I would prefer my interview to be taken, I said English. And then she told me to sit on a Chair in Waiting Area and wait for my turn. After 20-25 mins, My token number was displayed on big screen instructing me to which Counter I have to go. I went to the Counter and the Lady greeted me Good Morning then asked Who's calling you? after that she asked me to give her the following Original Documents :
-My Passport
-Birth Certificate
-PCC
-Marriage Certificate

Since my name was changed, I attached Gazette Certificate to show that. She asked me couple of questions regarding why did I changed my name and who's surname I adopted, I answered both of her questions calmly. Then she gave a Pamphlet and told me if you got approved those are your rights and it had information on domestic abuse. She also said if I would get approved, the Consular Officer will provide with another letter of how to pay for Immigration Fee. In the end, she asked me to wait for my token number to display on the screen again for my main Interview.

The wait time between this and the main interview was at least 3 - 3.5 hours for me. Hence, I recommend eat a nice breakfast prior to coming for interview. There were significant amount of people with different visa cases.

After it seemed like forever, my Token Number flashed again and I went to respective counter. Consular Officer was standing at the other side of the counter. He was a White American man and greeted me with a 'Good Morning'. Then he asked me to raise my right hand and put me under Oath to speak only truth. After that, he proceeded to ask me following questions :
Was it an arranged Marriage OR Love Marriage?
How did you two meet? (He asked few more questions regarding this as we met online, was trying to understand how my wife and mine relationship blossomed)
When was the last time she came to India?
How many days total she lived with you in India?
How many times did she came to India?
Where did she live when she came to India?

***To me it seemed like he was genuinely trying to understand the Timeline of Our relationship so there were few more questions to understand the timeline correctly. From Starting to End***

Did you go together somewhere?
Can I see the Photographs of You and your wife?
Who is that in this Photograph?
Her Daughter also visited India?

After watching the Photos of our Album keenly, He typed something.

**Important Tip- Please carry your Wedding and Trip Albums**

Who is *my Father-in-Law's name*?
What is your Mother-in-Law's name?

He then again typed something. If I remember correctly, He took a paper out of a file and said "Your Visa is Approved", It was a Paper which said "Your Visa is approved" and has few instructions. He kept the Passport to himself and gave back all 3 documents which the lady took from me earlier. This Officer was extremely polite and nice. His demeanor towards me was very warm. I thanked him multiple times. And Finally, I was extremely overjoyed that Our case was finally approved!!

Absolutely Unbelievable Experience!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
