How did you already get an interview date?
Mwkaasj on 2019-04-08 said:
Maybe it is just an estimate??

Once you receive the approval letter from the immigration (approximately 1 month after NOA 2, with the case number) you can start filling out the form DS-160, pay the interview fee and schedule the date. Here in Brazil You can change the day of the interview, if needed.

Thank you!

I’m looking at your dates above. Are all your dates filled in? I didn’t think we would receive the NVC letter until after they sent the package to the Consulate. I guess they also send the petitioners a letter when they receive it from the CSC on the front end too.

Yes, all my dates are filled in. I just took a look on your dates and approximately on 5/5 your petitioner will receive an email with your RDJ number and all the instructions on how you will have to move forward with your part of the process. Basically, you will have to fill out the form DS-160, pay the fee, schedule the medical exam and the interview. You don't really need to wait your package to arrive in Brazil to schedule the interview because the dates that the consulate will provide you are safe enough to make sure your process will be here. Just to give you an idea, the first day I had available to schedule my interview was whitin 2 months after my pettionter receive the RDJ number. It's up to you to wait for your package to arrive first. Also, you can always change the day of the interview if needed. Since my petitioner received the letter that I mentioned (with the RDJ number) me and him haven't received any other letter. I will come back here to let you know when I get the notification that my process arrive in Brazil. Feel free to post any other question here.

Just a correction: my pettionter received an email with my RDJ number and NOT A LETTER as I mentioned above. Sorry ðŸ˜

Hi. I just read your answers and I have a doubt about it. I would appreciate your help because I am walking around this answer for few days. I got my RDJ number by phone, was assigned on April 3rd. We didn’t receive any email with this number yet, but i already have. My question is: for what do I need this number? I started to fill DS 160, but there ask the USCIS number, what I imagine is the WAC... am I right? So when do I use the RDJ?
Also... Can I already send the DS 160 and schedule interview? Even my package didn’t arrive to consulate? Did you do that?
I checked the status of my process searching by RDJ number in CEAC website and says “AT NVC†still. Even in this way I can schedule interview or I have to wait for “READY†status?

You need the RDJ number to schedule your interview. I used the RDJ number to fill out the form DS-160, but I can't answer your question about which one is more apropriate to use (WAC or RDJ) because I don't have a lawyer. It's really up to you to wait for your process to arrive at the consulate to schedule your interview since you can always reschedule the date as many times you want to. Also, the dates that immigration provide you to attend the interview are far away enough to make sure your process will be here. I only checked my process status a few days ago and it was shown as "ready" already. I don't know how many days it took after receiving the RDJ number :( Let me know if you have any other question, this part of the process is a grey area, it's very difficult to find information online

The WAC number is primarily used for USCIS processing. Once that is completed by receipt of NOA2, there is a shift to the RDJ number or NVC issued number.
Mwkaasj on 2019-04-11 said:
The shift helps make sure the interviews scheduled are for beneficiaries that have moved through and past the NVC process.

Will you fill in your case number received date and your NVC left date for us? Thanks
AsantosP on 2019-04-15 said:
I will! I am out of home for 3 weeks, but will be back next week. I probably have received something. I will update here next week :)
Mwkaasj on 2019-04-15 said:
I just read that we will not receive a letter / package from the NVC or Consulate as they send via email if email exist. So it is important for them to have the correct emails for us.
AsantosP on 2019-04-15 said:
Ahh ok, thank you for let me know. They do have my email and also my fiancé email, both emails are correct. I will update here when I receive

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
