Congratulations..does the NVC sent a welcome letter to both the beneficiary and the petitioner email ?

Elsie Barnes- Yep, both my husband and I got the NVC email. We never got any email or notification from USCIS that our case was approved, first we knew of it was when we got the NVC email which also included the case and invoice numbers for us.

We slacked off this summer with getting our NVC package together, we have been doing visa stuff ever since we got married and wanted to just enjoy being married for a bit. Then my husband ran into a mess trying to get POC cuz they needed him to put my name in his passport first. It took over a month for him to get his POC.
We didn’t submit NVC packages till 11-20-2020. On 12-4, I had to resubmit the explanation of why I didn’t file taxes( I’m permanently disabled) and we got the notice today, 12-15-2020 that we got DQed.

Hi, so did you husband had to get a new passport with your name on it?? If so didn’t it reflect anything since your i130 was already approved with his old passport?

UB- sorry, just seen your message. Everything had been submitted when Sidd got his new passport so we’re just gonna bring both passports with us to his interview. I’m sure we won’t be the first couple to have this issue lol. If we woulda made changes on anything our completed case would have been opened again and we would be waiting to get to where we are now all over again. He’s never traveled anywhere that needed a passport so his old one didn’t hold much significance anyway. My passport has my old last name on it cuz my Indian visa still has 8 years on it, the details on the passport aren’t as important as just having a passport is. Pretty sure your passport # changes each time you get a new one so not a big dealðŸ‘ðŸ¼.

Sidd’s Green Card, which is good for 10 years, arrived today, 7-30-2022. Took 921 days from when we submitted I130 till GC in hand. Covid lockdowns was the reason for it taking such a long time but Covid lockdowns also were a blessing cuz it caused our case to become IR1 by his interview. Sidd having IR1 status made entering the US a breeze for him & allowed us to skip the removal of conditions step & expenses. Can’t believe our visa journey is over!!
I know how hard it can be waiting and being apart but if you are a legitimate couple, it’ll happen for you and bringing your spouse home to the US is so worth all the struggles and waiting! God Bless!!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
