Hi, how did you find out that the NVC had received your case? Thank you!
Nitad3 on 2019-04-16 said:
Hello,
My fiancée called NVC on 603-334-0700. I think he was on hold for around 15 minutes and the representative told him they've received our case and assigned us a case number already.
So if your petition has been sent to NVC, give them a call once or twice a week.
Best of luck!

How long after getting your NOA2 did your fiancée give them a call? We got ours 2 weeks ago and I'm thinking that we might call the NVC. Once they tell us the case number (before it reaches the consulate) can I book the medical exam? Do you know how long the medical exam results are valid for? Thank you :)

I think we initially waited around 2 weeks (we called on a Friday), and they told us they haven't received anything. We then called again on Wednesday of the following week and we got our case number. So I think you're good to try calling now, they should get it any day.
I booked my medical straight away, and you don't have to wait for the case to be received by London. That said, I'd account for some leeway with dates in case anything does go south and you're delayed to prevent your medical expiring. The results are valid for 6 months I belive. :)

I see that the number '603-334-0700' is for immigrant visa enquiries. I had thought a K1 visa is a non-immigrant visa?
Nitad3 on 2019-04-16 said:
K1 visa status is a little funny, I think other users have explained it much better here (if you read the first comment : https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/699642-march-2019-k-1-noa2-nvc/ this also explains the whole NVC calling process.

We got the case number last night! When you got your case number, what did you do to book the Medical exam? Thanks! :)
Nitad3 on 2019-04-25 said:
Congratulations! :) You will now have to contact Knightsbridge now to arrange your medical, you'll find all the information on their website http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/contact.htm.
Once you contact them and arrange a date, they will send you a conformation email with all the information and documents you will require.
Best of luck!
Banana9ieue on 2019-04-25 said:
Thank you! Do you have to give them payment details yet or will that just be after the exam? Is all I need the Case Number? How did you decide when to book it for? I heard that on April 30th the NVC might send some cases to the consulates.
Nitad3 on 2019-04-25 said:
No poroblem at all, happy to help!
No, you don't have to provide any payment details, you'll pay for the medical on the day after your medical exam has been done.
Yes, all you need is a your case number and an email where you'll receive all the info.
I booked it based on when it would be best for me, so I booked almost a month ahead. You're likely to be in the 30th/1st April batch (that's the next date they're sending out the applications to the embassies), but you equally could be in the later cohort, I don't want to get your hopes up for it to be wrong.
See which dates are available, and which you think will work for you. Do you have a specific date you're aiming for to move? Or are you trying to get it done ASAP?
Banana9ieue on 2019-04-25 said:
ASAP :) The trouble is that I found out yesterday that my fiancee has filed his taxes wrong, so he is waaaaay under the income requirement (he hasn't filed ever before this year). It takes 16 weeks to amend a tax return so he is thinking of using a co-sponsor. Trouble is he said has no family members that could be suitable for this... I hope he hurries up and finds one!
Nitad3 on 2019-04-25 said:
Oh no, that's so frustrating! Might be a good idea to make sure you guys have a coaponsor sorted out first. Maybe book your medical a little ahead so you have some wiggle room if you need to change things around. Hope everything works out for you guys!
Banana9ieue on 2019-04-25 said:
Thank you so much and you too! Do you know how long the medical exam results last for?
Nitad3 on 2019-04-25 said:
Thank you :) and I believe it's 6 months.
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-05 said:
When you went to your Medical exam did you take the attachment on the email sent to you from the NVC which has your case number on it?
And how long did it take from when they told you your case was ready for you to receive a letter from the Embassy?
Thank you!!!
Nitad3 on 2019-05-05 said:
Yes, I did, that was enough for them, they just need something to confirm your LDN number. My case has been ready for over 2 week and I haven't received the letter from the embassy, but you don't really need it for anything in London. So you don't really have to worry about it, you can go ahead and book your interview already :)
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-10 said:
Congratulations!
How much time did you leave between your Medical and your Interview?
Will you take the letter/email from the Embassy with you?
Nitad3 on 2019-05-11 said:
I had my medical on the 30th of April, and my interview is next Friday, 17th May. So I had a little over 2 weeks, but that's because that was the first date I was free haha. 2 weeks between the two should be ample time! You need to bring your booking confirmation with you to the interview, I believe. Have you booked your medical alrwady?
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-11 said:
I went to the Medical on Thursday, I'm glad that is sorted now. I booked 23rd May for my interview because I still am waiting for the financial documents from my fiancee... then I'll be ready to go and get my visa! :)
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-13 said:
Do you know how you'll get all your belongings over to the US, or a good shipping company? I'm taking as much as I can on the aeroplane but I don't know how I'll get the rest shipped over there.
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-22 said:
Hi! I got approved today. Did you receive your visa yet in the mail? How soon after you got approved did the status change, and where did you check the status? Also, do you know if when the visa is delivered to your address if you have to show ID and sign for it?
Thank you so much for your help!
Nitad3 on 2019-05-25 said:
Hey, congratulations on the approval, you're over the worst hurdle! I've just picked it up from Dx centre today, it took around 10 day from my interview to receive it. My status didn't change until a day before they shipped it out, so to be perfectly honest, it wasnt useful for me to check... I think it's just signed mail, wouldn't expect you to have to show any ID. As for your previous question about belongings, I've been moving stuff across since last summer, so I'll only be taking one checked bag with my on my flight out.
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-25 said:
When you checked it a day before they shipped it out, what did it say first?
Nitad3 on 2019-05-25 said:
It said administrative processing, and the following day I received an email that my visa has been dispatched with Dx.
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-26 said:
So it didn't change to Administrative Processing until the day before it was dispatched? That is interesting. Mine changed to Administrative Processing on Friday, and am hoping that on Tuesday it will update again.
How exciting, now you can go to the US and get married!
Nitad3 on 2019-05-26 said:
Yeah, it was very strange! Even more so, that someone who had an interview on the same day as me had updates much quicker than me. That's so exciting, keeping my fingers crossed that you get your visa asap. Yes, have my flight all booked and ready to go! Do you guys have a date in mind?
Banana9ieue on 2019-05-29 said:
As soon as I arrive there, hopefully! :)
Did DX tell you what time of day they would deliver it? How soon did they let you know the time? :)
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
