Waiting for case number. How much time did they take to give you a case number?
SugarB on 2019-10-01 said:
Since noa2 it’s like 5 weeks. Have you tried calling them?
GSKhanuja on 2019-10-01 said:
Yes I tried calling them and they just told me that we have received your file from USCIS but we can’t tell you when can we have a case number ready for your file. Any idea how much time they take to issue a case number after they receive the file from USCIS?

Mine is already in transit . Just be patient . It took 5 weeks until I got the number.

Is there any issue if we book the visa appointment before the embassy sends out a letter?
SugarB on 2019-10-31 said:
No , just book it . And the letter basically some instructions how to do medical and interview appointment and a copy of approved 129-F form. As long as you know your BMB# . You can schedule for interview . You need to have VAC appointment a day before interview schedule. And medical appoint 2 weeks prior interview date .

@SugarB: Have you received any letter from Mumbai Embassy? If yes then do they courier it or send an email?
I sent an email last week where in I mentioned my email address and mailing address from them to update it however they say it takes several weeks to send the letter to the beneficiary. Any comments?

I want to thank you for sharing your immigration experiences with this community.
My wife and I are about to go through the journey ourselves.
I was wondering, if it is no trouble to you, to ask you some questions about the process so that we could be prepared for everything that is to come.

im happy to help. I know how hard and nerve wracking the process is. just msg me. jainx25@yahoo.com.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
