We had our Adjustment of Status interview on September 24th
The IO called our token number and guided us to her office room. We took an oath and were instructed to only answer if questioned, and not answer for each other.
She first us asked the standard questions related to the application.
She then asked me to talk about our wedding (how many people, where, when, etc) and took a brief look at our wedding album.
She then asked my husband to talk about how we met and started dating.
She asked me how we communicate during the day (we text each other while we're at work) and what the last thing we texted each other was (i told her it was probably him asking me what time I was leaving work), after which she asked to see our text exchange on my phone.
She asked me about where we live, and if own or rent the property (we own our home), so she asked for the deed.
I handed over the deed and other supporting documents to add to our file (utility bill, joint bank statements, HELOC info, insurance etc)
She approved and congratulated us after filing away our additional documents.
Overall the interview was serious and thorough, but we were not too stressed since we were well prepared and had a genuine marriage.
The IO was polite, professional and a little stern, but she relaxed as soon as she approved our case. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
