Comments : Interview was on Sept 8, 2019. After being in AP for almost 8 months, I sued the Embassy in April 2020. I sued Dept of State and associated government agencies via a Writ of Mandamus. The parties were served in May and after requesting only one extension, we finally received the Visa approval in August 2020. Updated medical and passport was sent. They replied with sending back the passport and a paper asking included 10 questions from embassy on history and background. Once we completed we sent it back. About 4 weeks after received the 10 questions, they sent the Visa. Husband arrived September 19, 2020. :-D

Comments : At interview, there was no medical on file that the officer can see. Interviewing officer kept asking for a copy but we weren't required to get a new medical since the medical my husband did in Jordan was less than 2 years old. However officer said he didnt see a copy in the system and needed to request it in order to complete our file.

Consulate Review: Amman, Jordan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 27, 2019
Embassy Review : Very unhappy with our experience at the Amman Embassy. Aside from the fact that they booked us during a Holiday and rescheduled us 1 month later, they were not prepared on day of interview. My fiance was asked about 15 questions. One of the questions was if we did kiteb kitab which we do not do being Christian. My fiance said "No, engagement only." She asked again, "So you did not do Kiteb Kitab?" Unbelieveable!! Had the interviewer reviewed our petition, she would clearly see we are Christian and therefore do not do kiteb kitab. After breezing through the questions, she asked him to have a seat and wait to be called. He was called to the last window and the man asked for my fiances phone number then gave him back his passport said "We will call you soon". No information. No papers. No nothing. Two days later I emailed the Embassy and they told me they will call him shortly with information they require from him. Why not ask at the time of interview????? Very unhappy. So I went into the Embassy myself the following week and asked for a Supervisor. I voiced my complaint against the interviewer and the intake person at the window, with the supervisor standing behind her, told me not to worry about the questions asked and to just wait for a phone call soon. Nothing as of yet. I'll be emailing twice a week until they can send their request so to avoid additional delays. Until then, we show we are in Administrative Processing. Very very upset with how our interview and follow up was handled.
Rating : Very Poor

Hey I filed on November so I was wondering if you’ve received NOA2 yet?
blank avatar SJordanS on 2019-03-18 said:
Not yet. In fact I just hung up with USCIS about one hour ago. No update. Waiting on pins and needles.

The wait is the worst! Goodluck to you guys I hope you get an answer soon.

Still waiting on your approval? Wish you the best

Sadly yes....190 days so far. Yesterday I received a message from USCIS because I put in an inquiry. They said my case is pending adjudication and they will let me know the decision within 45 days. (sigh)

Hi why did you change or rescheduled your interview?
blank avatar SJordanS on 2019-07-14 said:
Actually I didn't change it. The Embassy did. They opened the schedule for Aug 11 and we booked that day. However, this is the big Eid Holiday in Jordan. So anyone scheduled on 11th, 12th and 13th all had to be automatically rescheduled for a later date and sadly its almost a month later.

For what reason did you request expedite of EAD?
blank avatar Gflores16 on 2021-04-06 said:
Hi there, i was wondering what reasons you used or how you requested expedite of EAD? no need to go in detail, just curious as someone I know may be in the same situation given they have a job offer.

My fiancé and I mentioned in our letter of intent to get married that we did a photo shoot on and he was jus wearing jeans and a bottom shirt July 21st and that on the 26th he decided to propose to me. There are also photos of us and the proposal. See the photos attached, we only sent this photo. Could this give the consulate the wrong impression?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
