We received a 221(g) with a checklist to send his passport and military draft record (although he's never served). It took us a couple of weeks to get the document, but once we submitted it, he was issued his visa within 2-3 days. |

We had a great experience at this POE. My husband and I crossed over together, the officer didn’t ask any questions, and the health inspector even let our dog through customs with barely a glance at his paperwork. |

We had a pretty bad experience at the Consulate. Despite being told that I (US citizen) could attend the interview with my husband (Kazakhstani citizen), they wouldn't let me in at the door. They promised that the consular officers would speak Russian with my husband (his English isn't great), so I shouldn't worry. In fact, the consular officer refused to speak Russian to him even when he asked, so he was forced to speak only English. Naturally, this made him really nervous and he confused a few dates during the interview.
We received a 221(g) refusal because we were missing one document. Not a big deal, but the consular officer was so rude to him about the whole ordeal. I was shocked because other reviews here say that the Consulate is very friendly to immediate relatives. I guess that's only true if they speak fluent English. |

Timeline Comments: 1Congratulations, on the approval!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
