Congrats! Did you expedite by any chance?
Eddie Eddie NG on 2022-06-14 said:
@Niq , yes I did expedited in both stages, I.e USCIS & NVC
Eno-Abasi on 2022-06-15 said:
Congratulations!!! Almost there!!!! How soon after the expedite was approved at NVC did you receive an interview letter?
VEO on 2022-06-18 said:
Hi Eddie, would you mind sharing what your reason for expedite was? I was DQd February 26th 2021, I applied for expedite based on my husband's (Beneficiary) medical condition on July 2021 and was refused. I'm wondering if your expedite was based on a medical condition and if it was the Beneficiary or the applicant that had the condition.

@Eno-Abasi, within few hours after my Expedite approval I was instructed to schedule my own appointment by the Immigrant visa section, US Consulate General Lagos

@VEO - My wife (petitioner) has been residing with me for years now in Nigeria. However, there is a serious emergency that has made us to relocate back to the US together with our children which we were able to provide SUFFICIENT evidence to proof our case.....I think in other to expedite your case, the hardship should be towards the Petitioner's side. GOOD LUCK!

Hi. Congratulations on your interview!! I also expedited my case and it was approved. The Lagos consulate also received our package that same day, a day after your case was received. The sent an email for us to schedule for an interview. However, when we get to the point for scheduling on the CGIfederal website it says, "There are currently no available appointments." Please, how were you able to get an interview date so fast? What do you advice I do? I'm not sure why the calendar has yet to open. Thank you for your guidance.
Eddie Eddie NG on 2022-06-22 said:
Hello Chinny95, I heard that the calendar is currently open for self schedule now for JULY 29th or so, hope you have secured a date already. As for me I was able to find a date at around 9:30am Nigerian time.

Wow congratulations. I’m so happy to have come across this timeline because my husband and I are in a similar situation. I stay with him in Nigeria pending the time of him getting a visa. Demonstration of financial support as a sponsor was a concern as I do not have any income here now especially compared to what I earned in the U.S so we had been planning for my dad to be his joint sponsor. We were also concerned about proving domicile. We also had a child together. Did you do the filing all on your own or did you have an attorney?
I also have some other questions pertaining to immigration 1) did your wife get citizenship in Nigeria or how did she extend her stay I’m currently using a visitor visa and it’s about to expire soon 2) how easy was your CRBA process? (I’m assuming your wife stayed with you the entire 3 years and did not travel back at all during that time)
3) how well did your wife get acclimated in Nigeria? I’m also missing home hahaha

Okay I just read your interview again and saw that your daughter was born in Indiana. How much time did you spend apart from your wife? My first child was born in the U.S but I want this child to be born here because I don’t really think it makes a difference except minus the stress of traveling which I really hate and I prefer to be with my husband this time around.
Eddie Eddie NG on 2022-09-04 said:
My wife had a Niger-wife residence permit valid till 2026 August. And yes, our daughter was born in INDIANA
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
