Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 24, 2019
Embassy Review : Very quick and easy - asked me where my fiance was from in the US, what she did for a living before she moved to New York from Ohio, if I'd ever been to Ohio?
Asked me to prove my financial situation and showed them a print out of my bank records showing my own savings.
Took 20 minutes to look over my documents and then approved my visa - got it back a week later!
Rating : Very Good

Hi, they asked you to show Your own savings? As well as your affidavit of support? Sorry to ask, just trying to ensure I’m over prepared with everything Incase.

No - We didn't fill out an affidavit of support because on the website it said there was no specific way to prove that you wouldn't become a charge to the state - instead I just printed out an overview from my internet banking page. Another applicant who was at the embassy the same time as me did the same (i overheard him saying what he was showing to the clerk) and the person who looked through all my documents actually said that showing I have my own money was better as it shows I'm not dependent on my wife (not sure how accurate that is, but thats what he said). Hope that helps?!

Hey! Did you ever have to get a new medical once in the US? I am about to file AOS and am wondering if i file without out? My medical was done on December 12, 2019.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
