Sent an email request to the embassy because I am unable to travel often to see him due to my young son here at home. They approved but still no interview due to covid so it has not helped our case.

Wow that’s a while. They have been scheduling married visas I thought? When you contact them do they give you the generic repeated Embassy email as well?
