IsItLekker on 2021-11-26 said:Our case was considered completed when we were documentary qualified, but at the time of our process, Johannesburg was under pretty strict lockdown, so we had to appeal for an expedite. Our wait until we were contacted by the consulate was about the same as yours, only we didn't receive a letter. They emailed my husband directly so he could schedule his medical and then he contacted them right after his medical to schedule his interview. I'm glad you were able to get in for an interview! I see you've even made it state side already! That is so awesome! Congratulations and welcome to the US!

Neeeeek&LilHummus on 2021-12-23 said:Your passport acts as a temporary green card and good for one year...there should be an expiration date on it. However, I think you have up to six months from obtaining your visa to enter the US. We're still waiting for our official green card. Hope this helps.
