Embassy Review : On the day of my interview woke up very early prepared my son and I and were at the embassy by 6:15am. At exactly our appointment time we were led into the hall. The security agents were very polite and receptive yet they payed attention to every key details and ensured we followed the rules accordingly. Long story short when it got to my turn I was interviewed by a white, he seemed very strict and very straight forward never met one like that in my life. He asked a whole lots of questions I think 15 in total and when I answered all to my greatest dismay he went through an array of papers and sorted out the form 221(g) and requested for a DNA between mother and son and father and son. I can't even describe how shook, confused and disappointed I was. I mean I had my son's birth certificate, pictures of him during his baptism, Thanksgiving and so forth yet was issued that dreaded form. I felt so disappointed and sad and felt I was treated unfairly. However we went on with the DNA process which took a total of 6 weeks for the results to be out and shipped to the U.S embassy. Then the wait began at this point we called, emailed the embassy on what next but got no response I called the appointment line and was told there was nothing anyone could do but keep tracking our status online on the Ceac account which we did. Finally after 5 weeks we got our visas. Our status online changed from AP to Ready and after less than a day it changed back to AP and after 3 days it changed to issued. The following day I emailed the embassy on when I cd come collect our visas and got a reply 3 days after to come pick them up any Thursday as from 3pm. So in all it's been worthwhile the struggle was hard but my sweet hubby just never gave up every struggle just brought us together

Hi Sarah, that's odd, I got documentarily qualified email by 08 March and on the 21 of April we received our interview letter. One thing I did was and I advise u do same is apply for an expedite in your interview. Can't remember how it's called. For my case I wrote my son and I were in at risk of the anglophone crisis you can give any reason you think it's worth expediting your interview date. We got rejected but the same month I received my interview letter. I knew I wasn't going to be rejected but I just wanted send a reminder to Yde. I advised one girl to do same she got documentarily qualified before me and I got my letter way before her she kept waiting until after 10 months she decided to send an expedited request and her interview letter was sent. At this point calling NVC is useless cause they will keep telling you the same story of waiting for Yde to send ur date. Good luck

Hello NKeng, please who did you call to request an expedite of your interview and what reason do you is reasonablyenough for me to put forward? I am in the same category as you were. I got a message from NVC stating that all.my documents are approved and I should be waiting for info on the interview date. It's been close to a month now.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
