Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 10, 2022
Embassy Review : The interview at the consulate in Manila was very smooth. They only asked 4-5 questions and then approved the file. After seeing what others went through on the same day, we really learned a lot. The person ahead of us did not have a great experience. They were asked around 20 or more questions and barely understood what was asked, with a lot of flaky answers. They were denied. You really need to have your file in order for this to be successful. Make sure everything is in the correct order, well labeled, and then study that file. That's really all we did to make the process so smooth.

Hey - question for you. How long did it take for your check to cash for AOS? I can't tell if my package got lost or not and the only way for me to tell is when the check gets cashed. Do you happen to remember? Thank you so much.
Ironrule on 2020-01-31 said:
Good question! It took a long time! Tracking showed the package received on 12/30/19 and the check cleared my bank on 1/28/2020. We got the text message from our G-1145 before the check cleared, on 1/24/2020.

Wow!! That's crazy. My USPS tracking is broken and they can't find my package. What a mess! That's helpful info though because I don't want to submit AOS twice. Thank you

You're welcome! Wow that's crazy, sorry you haven't been able to track it. I was a little worried about mine too. It definitely took longer than I expected. Hope you get your response soon!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
