Event Description
Review Date : September 27, 2019
Embassy Review : On 9/24, my husband and I arrived at 11:15 am for our 12 noon interview. We went through the security check point then handed in the appointment letter along with my ID.
The waiting room was pretty empty, so we figured my name would have been called quickly. Before 12 noon, many couples and other applicants started to fill the seats. Several persons who came after us were called before us, and we started to get a bit impatient. javascript:emoticon('')

My name was called at ~12:50 pm, and we followed the officer to the interview room. She swore us in and asked us to sit. My picture was taken, fingerprint processed.

My husband and I were asked for our passports and my birth certificate. She asked my husband most of the questions, such as his name and basic biographic info. He also had to give the officer details about the timeline of our relationship. They spoke mostly about his job and about her husband and kids, lol

She then asked my name, DOB, address, place of birth and the long list of questions on the i-485 about crimes and so on.

We brought a whole bunch of docs, but she only took a letter that was written by his parents stating that we live with them. She also asked for 3 pictures and said the documents we sent with our application were enough.
The interview was 45 mins long. Most of the time was spent talking and joking about our lives.

The officer verbally approved the case and said she would approve it on the 27th (today). She said she needs me to hurry up and get out of the house and find a job, lol
I just checked the status of the case, and it says my card is being produced javascript:emoticon('')

Overall, it was a great experience.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
