Hi, you got your NOA2 really quickly, I was wondering if you don't mind me asking if either of you have previous marriages or criminal records? I'd love to get mine as soon as yours came.
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-04-01 said:
Nope. Neither of us have any previous marriages, kids, criminal records, etc. Super simple case for us! I was surprised we got it as early as we did, but i have noticed many other December getting their NOA2's as well. Your NOA1 is just over a week past ours. Im sure you'll be getting yours as well soon!

Congrats, things are moving fast for you! I've been following your timeline since we are pretty close and immigrating from Canada as well. Have you tried to see if you could get an interview date yet? I'm curious to know how long the wait is.

Not yet, Im hoping my fiance will do that today when he has an opportunity. Ill let you know once I do! Also, I know you're not too far behind me as well. I suggest using the P3 link that Greenbaum shared in the other forum and as soon as CEAC says "Ready" email the P3(if you're wanting to speed things up of course). I had my fiance do that the night that it changed to "Ready" and he got the email for P4 about 2 days later.

Hi there! Can you please keep me posted as well? I’m very curious about the wait for the interview. And just to be sure, do you book the interview or do they send you your interview date and time once they receive packet 4? I’m kind of lost with this process once it goes to the NVC.

@StephanieB After NVC and you get your case number that begins with MTL for Montreal, you'll follow it on the CEAC website under immigrant visa status. Look ahead at the P3 and get together what you can, we worked on the DS160 while we waited. As soon as CEAC says ready, try emailing the P3. Some people ive read have gotten an email saying you sent it too soon, but it doesnt hurt to try to send it early. We did, and we got P4 right away. P4 has all the info for booking your interview and what you need for the interview.

Sorry for the multiple posts that are the same! It said query error and I assumed that it didn't post so I kept trying...now I know better. Yes, I've followed the P3 link, I'm guessing that your fiance did the DS-160 ahead of time so all he had to do was email it in to the embassy? At this point we are still waiting for mine to get his long form birth certificate and to do his police clearance. I kind of want him to have those in hand before he sends in the P3. I don't know if it is all Canadians or just mine but he does things in his own laid back place and I am the get it done now person.
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-05-10 said:
No problem, I did that too with the multiple posts. and yes. I actually have more time so I started his DS160 for him. Then I just gave him the application number and info, we went over it together and he uploaded his photo for it and got it submitted the night that he emailed P3. Were both really set on having a summer wedding(no official plans of course) but we are both trying to get it done. He's already gotten his long form birth certificate, and is just waiting for his police clearance and he needs to get his vaccine history/titres test for before his medical.

When it comes time for his POE is he driving or flying? Does he have a vehicle that he plans on importing?
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-05-10 said:
He’ll be crossing most likely one of the Washington land borders. He won’t be importing his car. Still working on exact plans though!
Blueyz48 on 2019-05-10 said:
Importing brings up a whole new list of "must do's". Mine is a few months from having his truck paid off so he needs to get that done, call and get a letter of compliance and hope that all is ok or get it taken care of, he still has to go through his stuff and figure out what is coming with and what he is getting rid of. I feel like such a nag most days because I keep telling him the day is going to come very soon when he can cross and won't be ready, lol!
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-05-10 said:
Kinda feel the same way! Now that it’s getting closer i feel better about checking in on his packing 😂

Were you able to get an interview right away or did you have to try a few times for one to be open?
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-05-11 said:
We were able to get it right away: the first date available was July 3rd, and there were a few different times available as well
Blueyz48 on 2019-05-11 said:
That's good to know. Hopefully there will still be July spots open in a few weeks!
blank avatar StephanieB on 2019-05-14 said:
Blueyz48 I just read in your msg that you said your fiancé is waiting for a long form birth certificate. What is that? Is that the new one that comes with the parents names that was issued a few years ago?
Staceyandjack on 2019-07-04 said:
i was at the Montreal Consulate as well on July 2nd! My status is in administrative review as well. Just wanted to wish you well and hope you get your visa in the mail soon!
Staceyandjack on 2019-07-04 said:
No I haven’t received any email from the consulate. I’ve been wondering why it says administrative review. I’ve been looking at my emails to see if they sent me anything but i haven’t
blank avatar ScooterJones on 2019-10-24 said:
So you got stuck in administrative processing? Why is it taking so long for you?
blank avatar TheLedgerFiles on 2019-10-24 said:
We actually just got our email that his visa has been issued today. And got the email for tracking info from consulate. He had gotten a request to fill a DS-5535(who knows why, there was really nothing we could think of why they wanted that after they told him he was approved at interview)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
