Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 2, 2021
Embassy Review : My experience with the Sydney consulate was the best part of this whole process. Although I was in the consulate for about and hour and a half, the face to face process took all of about 15 minutes and they had my passport back to me within three business days.

Watching the preparation or lack thereof of some of the other interviewees that morning I cannot emphasize enough the following: check and re-check that you have done everything on the cover sheet - I saw one guy sent away because he hadn't done his police check. ORGANISE your documentation as per the cover sheet and have enough respect for all the work you've put in to this process to have the paperwork CLEAN and contained - one lady showed up with docs in an ALDI bag and guess what? She'd forgotten stuff.

Also because I was coming in to Sydney from QLD I chose to book into the Adina Serviced Apartments - 2mins from the consulate - because after navigating the shit show that is COVID and Australian border closures I didn't want something as simple as running late for my interview to de-rail me at the last minute.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
