Comments : I checked in my luggage pieces three and one half hours ahead of time, first one in line. Had enough time to return my rental vehicle change repack some things. I made it back to US Customs security and cleared security. I then entered the area where the kiosks are. The kiosk could not scan my visa type. It instructed me to proceed to an agent. I turned in my sealed medical docs. I was taken to a back office area where another agent saw me after a 5minute wait (there was one other person ahead of me that had just been processed). Agent had to confer with a co-worker. He daid he had not done a k-1 in a long time. I told him I would not suspect there were many persons from The Bahamas that use it. He then scanned my right four fingers (thumb excluded) and took my photo. Asked if I was ready to live and work in the USA. I reiterated I am getting married and was ready for that. He told me I had 90 days from that day etc. I told him I wed in 4 weeks. He wished me well. Time including security clearance was less than 30mins. I made it upstairs with 2hrs til takeoff.

Comments : Kendall Office was packed, we got into the interview at about 10:45am after security screening and a out a 40 minute wait for our names to be called. The officer, after swearing us both in, asked the questions on the form i485, and a few others similar to those asked during k-1 US embassy i.e. how did we meet, date of birth of my petitioner etc. We were out after at 11:15am. Honestly, the Officer was professional but tactful. His style of interrogation was engaging us, sharing about himself and letting us feel comfortable to share more about us. He advised us of the next steps, collected our renters insurance and vehicle insurance and declined to take the photos we had brought and cards and letters from persons aihkng is well on our wedding and other holidays and birthdays. He neither approved or denied us, but said "if we were approved" we should get the Permanent Resident card within two weeks. He advised us to apply for the 10yeae card at least 6 months before the expiration date of the 2 year card and to begin collecting evidence i.e. banking, mortgage kids birth certificates etc. for that next step. All in all, pleasant and seamless experience.

Ok, we are so curious how long it will take for them to set an interview. May would work well for us. Thanks and good luck.

We are hoping for same. Keep praying!

Congrats on a interview date. Did you end up calling them? Was 05-28-19 the earliest interview date they offered you? Thanks in advance for the info.
BrocknRolle on 2019-05-10 said:
Hi, I emailed them ivnassau@state.gov. I waited 2 days, as they try to answer all emauls within that timeframe according to their website. After not getting a response I called. I then got my letter via email. The 20th was the earliest I could go into Nassau for the medical and the 28th was the earliest the Embassy could accommodate me for interview given that medical date. I am not sure had my medical been on an earlier date if I would have an interview sooner. I am content tho, as I did not expect earlier based on the timelines I follow.
GaLy on 2019-05-10 said:
I see, we scheduled her medical for the 14th without a letter from them. Maybe we can still get an interview in May. We just got case ready this past Monday. I wonder why they are slow with the letter?
BrocknRolle on 2019-05-10 said:
It's a busy time at the Embassy as summer is literally next month, when most persons apply for travel avisasnd student visas anticipating the end of the school term. Couple that with the fact that Good Friday and Easter was in April (two holidays). Memorial day is this month so my interview is the day after because naturally they are closed on holidays, Bahamian and American alike.
GaLy on 2019-05-28 said:
What time is your interview today? Ours is at 1:00. Good luck, thanks.
BrocknRolle on 2019-05-28 said:
Thank you GaLy! I had the same time! Met your intended and we chatted about the process! Everything went fairly smoothly. I have to return my medical cert. and we will be good to go!

But I raised hell and the airline accommodated me. However, it was a direct flight. Well, at least you are united now! @Dboy3k thanks and will do. I still have to review Embassy Interview as well.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
