Local US CIS Office Review: Portland OR

Event Description
Review Date : May 10, 2019
Embassy Review : Had my AOS interview in Portland Oregon on Wednesday May 8. I had filed November 6, 2018 and my receiving date was November 9, 2018. We waited only 15 minutes and my name was called out so my husband and I together with our son and lawyer went in. The lady officer was very friendly and the whole interview was like a conversation. She asked the yes or no questions in the i-485 form. She asked how we met, have we met each other’s family, why we decided to get married...She also asked if we brought any joint documents so we gave her bank statements, apartment lease and utility bills showing both our names. We also gave her the baby’s birth certificate showing both our names.

She then said she has no problem approving us there and then and that in a week’s time I’ll have the green card. She never looked at our photos and I had printed so many, I had a whole album.

I received an email at 10 o’clock that night showing I-485 New Card Being Produced. Another email for I-130 saying Interview was completed, case will now be reviewed. At 2am I got a bunch of texts notifying me of the same changes in the status of my case. A day later I got a bunch of notifications via text and email showing AOS and I-130 were approved.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
