Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines

Event Description
Review Date : May 5, 2024
Embassy Review : I arrived at the US Embassy an hour before my interview date. I was asked to go to a certain area to check my DS-260 and Passport. Went inside for the security to check my stuff. Then after the security check I went outside and was guided to go inside the Embassy. Then they asked what type of Visa you are applying for. Then they guided me on where to wait for my initial document screening. The process was fast. The Consul's questions for me were pretty simple like: Where am I going to live, the Petitioner's name, Petitioner's address, Petitioner's number and When we got married. I was asked to go to the Biometrics area and gave my DS-260. This is were the long wait happened. I was called after the wait. They returned all my documents from the document screening area. Then the Consul continued to ask more questions like: Who's your Petitioner, What's your relationship with the Petitioner, When did you meet, When did you start the relationship and asked for my CENOMAR and spouse's AOM. Which I don't have that time. The Consul gave me a pamphlet about Information on Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the United States and Facts About Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa and 221G to submit my CENOMAR and AOM online and via LBC with my Passport. It was a good experience. Staff were very helpful. The Consul was very nice and approachable.
Rating : Very Good

We are still waiting on the result after we submitted our RFE. It is really frustrating. Actually, I am going home this March 25, 2020 to visit my fiancee. 2 years we have NOT seen each other. I don't know what USCIS still needs from us. Thank you for the positive energy Joyoussinger❤️

I've thought about you a lot, and check your timeline sometimes hoping for good news. I'm still sending positive energy. I can't imagine what they would need.

Was just checking out your timeline to see how you guys were doing. So excited you finally got your approval!

Hi Emeline29 sorry for the late reply. Yes we did got our approval letter, but with the COVID-19 and US Embassy in Manila still closed, we are unable to move further as of the moment 🙄🙄🙄 Thank you for checking up on us ❤️ I am so glad you get to be with your love one already ❤️🤗

It really sucks that, after all the waiting you've had to endure, a virus just had to interfere. I'm happy that, at least, your case has moved and as soon as the Embassy opens, I'm sure it will start moving again. You're so close! Once your interview is scheduled, things move quickly! I'll be celebrating with you!

Good Morning! I was just thinking about you and wondering if there has been any progress. I guess if there had been, you would have posted it. I'm still sending you my best energy.

Hi Joyoussinger😉 There's no progress yet my friend, but I will be visiting my fiance on January 2022. I'm thinking our case is a dead end already. Our 2nd option is to get married online while both of us are in the Philippines. And I will just file I-130 when I get back to the U.S. Let me know your opinion about this.
Joyoussinger on 2021-10-25 said:
I think you should definitely get married. You've been waiting so long. A visa would be easier to get if you're already married. It's so good to hear from you! Please, keep me posted. 💜

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
