Embassy Review : |
The interview was on August 30th at 10am. My wife arrived at the US Embassy at 6:50am and got #7 from the information booth. The Consulate opened at 8am. She went into the "interview" room and waited until they called her number to line #7 to turn in her paper works to a Vietnamese lady who asked her:
• Who's your petitioner?
• What's your husband's DoB?
• What's your date of marriage?
• How many times has he visited you?
• What are the dates?
• Where are the airplane ticket stubs?
• What does your husband do?
My wife's comment on the lady was that she was extremely rude. She felt like she was treated like "dirts." I told my wife that being in a "customer service" oriented field can give people a lot of stress. That made her feel better.
My wife waited until 10:25am, then she got called to booth #15 of which she noticed gave out 2 blues before her. So she was a bit nervous.
The CO asked my wife:
• How did you and your husband meet?
• Did anyone introduce you?
• What does your husband do?
• When and how did he come to the US?
• Are you a communist?
• Do you belong to a communist party?
He asked my wife for communication evident, and my wife gave him about 100 pages of Skype call logs and emails. He didn't even look at them and just returned them back. He gave her a pink slip and asked her to come back at 4pm on September 5th to pick up her visa at booth #11. He didn't ask to see any pictures (my wife brought about 300 pictures.) In total, less than 20 questions were asked to which my wife gave all clear and concise answer.
My wife said the CO and the Vietnamese lady who interviewed her were very friendly and they smiled a lot.
My wife came back to pick up the Visa September 5th. They called people by their Last name to turn in the Pink slips at each specific booth. My wife turned her in at booth #11 and waited until her name was called. The Vietnamese lady told my wife to double check her name, DoB, etc... on the Visa. She told my wife to read the instructions carefully and to not open a package. She also reminded my wife to carry all the paper works with her instead of putting them in the checked in luggage.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
