It was a pleasant experience! Social distancing, plexiglass and masks are in effect. Our officer made the interview an easy and comfortable conversation. |

I scheduled my interview at 7:50 am on a Tuesday. I got there about 20 minutes earlier and got in line pretty fast. There were some ayi outside telling you where to get in line, which I’m very grateful for, and offering to keep your bag for some extra money, which you don’t have to do because for the immigrant visas, the consulate will help keep your bag before you go through security check.
Going to every line in the consulate, there will be people telling you exactly what to do, so just pay attention and listen carefully.
My VO is a really nice person and the whole interview lasted for 10 minutes.

Our appoinment was at 10:15 but it didn't begin until around 10:50ish.
Went through security and checked in at front desk with masks and plexigalss in effect.
Our officer was a very nice Bulgarian gentleman. We got so nervous at first, with me not saying anything to the oaths session and my husband answering wrong date for my birthday XD
Interview was more like a friendly conversation/ meeting. Questions like "when did we meet, how was our relationship like" are very common ones. No tricky questions at all.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience! |

Timeline Comments: 3Have you gotten your passport? If yes, How long did it from Guangzhou to your city?
Q2018 on 2019-03-27 said: Yes. It took about 1 day.
Congrats!! I’m still waiting for my interview date. It’s been a year already.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
