I never got an NOA2... I got the NOA1 then, I received a letter from the NVC saying that they recently received an approved I129F and were sending BKK the application within one week. We never got packet 3 in the mail... The embassy eventually emailed us packet 3. |

Embassy Review : |
*** Bangkok is now asking for 2 working days to process the visa after the successful interview. Plan accordingly ***
We got to the Embassy at about 6:45am for our 7:00 am interview and I was shocked to see about 70 people lined up outside on the sidewalk. I noticed that no one had the same large packet of X-Rays that we were carrying... so after about 5 minutes, we saw another couple of people go to the front of the line and then go inside...
I went to the front of the line (cut line) and told the lady that we had a 7am appointment. She matched out name and BKK case number and told us to go inside to window #5.
Once inside, we found another line and asked them and they directed us to yet another line through another doorway. (atleast it was air conditioned in there)
Finally in the right place, we stood in line at window #5 for about 30 minutes as the one (1) lady collected everyone's material from packet 3 and handed back unneeded documents (I had a nice cover page - which was returned) On my cover page I explained that I was including the employer's letter and bank info only for the I-134 paperwork... and that I had tax returns and pay stubs if necessary.. but it was approved with out these...
For proof of the relationship, I only included 4 pictures. No emails, no phone receipts, (but I had them incase they wanted to see them)
The lady at the window took the materials (asked for her original birth certificate) and said to wait until our name was called.)
and so ... the wait began
We waited from 7:30 until 11:15... then we were called.
We went to the window. Suphee was asked if she wanted to speak in Thai or English. Suphee said Thai (I hoped she would have said english since I was standing there...) SHe was asked:
1. Where did we meet
2. Where do you work (Suphee not me)
3. What do you do (Suphee not me)
4. How many times did I come to visit her
5. How long did I stay when I visited
Meanwhile, I looked down and noticed that the application already had "approved" on the top of the page so I relaxed a little...
When they finished asking her the questions, they asked me in english:
1. When did I come to Thailand
2. How long did I stay when I came
Then it was kind of funny... The lady at the window asked me:
"How will you communicate with each other?"
I said "In English of course... her English is very good, she is just nervous and preferred to answer in Thai to make sure she understood EXACTLY what you were asking..."
She laughed and said no problem... I know she will enjoy the trip...
Then she said:
"Come back on Monday (2 business days) after today to pick up her passport..."
I told her I had $2500 of tickets booked for Saturday... and she said hmmmm.... She went back to the back and returned about 4 minutes later and said that they would do everything possible to get it done for the next day and to check back on Friday... otherwise pick it up on Monday....
YEAH>>>> they had it today and we picked it up at 3:00 pm and just finished packing for the trip...
Soo.... plan on 2 days... I told her that I had only given it one since everything online said pick it up the next day... she said recent "new" security concerns had moved it to a 2 day process... I told her I would post the new info online... she said thanks...
OVerall.... Long 4 hour wait... but worth it...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
