Comments : When our interviewer called me, as I walked up to him with my wife I started a joke with him immediately and we all chatted and laughed through the hallway to his office.

When we got to his office the guy just had us take the oath, we cracked jokes for a while then he went straight to ask me the YES/NO questions in the I-485

He made some changes on the application and had me sign on the changes.

Next he asked for any supporting joint documents that we had.I gave him some of them(I forgot to give him our joint tax returns, W2 and some other stuffs.I realized that when I got home) and he filed them.

He never asked any personal questions or anything about our life.

Then gave us a printout to acknowledge we came for the interview.then said even though the letter says it takes 120days to hear from them we would hear from them within 2-6 weeks and that was it.

He didn't ask for any of the things listed on the invitation letter.I went home with most of the paperwork including the updated affidavit of support.

3hours later my case changed to NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED.

MY GOD did it anyway.I don't think it was ordinary.

Event Description
Review Date : March 8, 2019
Embassy Review : I was there some minutes past five but regretted it cos we stood from that time till 6:30am when the actual checking in started.my leg really hurt.but that's by the way.
Below is just a summary of the actual Interview.

Applicant numba * come to terminal x

Me- good morning!(with a very cheerful and confident smile)
V.O-Hi good morning

she said a brief oath while I responded at d end with my right hand raised: YES I DO

V.O-whats your relationship with the person who applied for you?
Me- she's my fiance

V.O-have you ever been married?
Me-No

V.O-do you have a child or have you ever had a child from any woman anywhere?
Me-No

V.O-hope you know the difference between being married and being engaged.
Me-yes

V.O-where did you meet your fiance?
Me-online on Facebook

V.O-where exactly on Facebook?did she suddenly see you on Facebook? Do you have mutual friends?
Me-well it was on a group named*********,she sent me a friend request and the communication started and has blossomed to this stage.

V.O-When did you meet her in person
Me-answer

V.O-how many times has she visited you in Nigeria?
Me-once and that was last year

V.O-who proposed to the other and where?
Me-I did,.... I explained where and how it took place

V.O-Has your fiance been married before?
Me-answer

V.O-Does she have a child or children?
Me-answer

V.O-Where does your fiance work?
Me-answer

V.O-where do you plan to have your wedding?
Me-mentioned the name of the courthouse

All this while she was smiling and typing on her keyboard with her eyes glued to the screen.

V.O-when do you plan to get married on arriving the U.S?
Me-answer

V.O-how do you communicate with her?
Me-facebook messenger, video calls and phone calls

V.O-so you are able to afford calling her daily from Nigeria or u used an app or something?
Me-I call on messenger while she calls on mobile

V.O-how is she able to call you that often? does she use an app?
Me-she uses a call card that makes her call very cheap

V.O-can you show me your favorite pics of the two of you together?
Me-showed her

V.O-why is this one your favorite?
Me-I explained

V.O-can I see your chat logs?
Me-gave her(some were from last year some were from our recent chats)

She took time to go through them.

V.O-I will approve your visa.(handed me d white sheet that contains instructions on how to get the visa when it's ready)
V.O-your visa will be ready within five to ten working days.do you want to have your chat logs back or should I dispose them?
Me-you can keep it thank you.

V.O-you can go.

I hope this helps those who have interviews ahead.

*NOTE*
The approval rate for immigrant visas at the embassy I would say is 100%. so far the petition was properly filed and you can answer the questions confidently there's nothing to panic about.

Funny enough, one of the V.Os told one guy: even though I have some reservations about ur case I'll go ahead and approve you.

So you can see how easy it can be.
Rating : Very Good

Did you confirm if the embassy received your case from the NVC? Our case left the NVC on the 5th as well but it still says “In Transit” on the CEAC tracking site. Appreciate your help!

It's not there yet but I know I'll definitely get there before 30 days. so no cause for alarm.

Congratulations! May I ask you though did it take that long for you to get possession of your Visa? Your interview we 3/8 but you didn't receive it until 3/25? Was that bc that's when you picked it up or that's when they had it available? They say 5 to 10 days. My fiance lives in Port Harcourt and we've chosen to have the Visa mailed to DHL in PH so he doesn't have to make another trip to Lagos to pick it up.
Nwoke on 2019-04-15 said:
I had a little problem between my interview date and the pickup date(the fault was from the embassy anyway) but by the grace of God they sorted it out. But ordinarily it takes about a week to get the visa after the interview. I don't think immigrant visas are sent to porthacourt. I wanted to choose that option but some people who chose different address other than the V.I pickup center were asked to go to V.I to pick it up. I feel that is the official pickup center for immigrant visas.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
