Consulate Review: Amsterdam, Netherlands Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Event Description Review Date : February 14, 2019 Embassy Review : On January 29, 2019 I had my visa interview for an IR-1 visa in the US Consulate in Amsterdam. I had my interview at 2 pm and arrived around 1.45. I first had to give my DS-260 to a lady that was sitting in front of the interview windows. She collected my DS-260 and passport pictures. After that I had to wait to be called to the first window. While waiting I discovered I forgot the printed pictures of me and my wife in the car that I had parked at a P+R at the Rai. I was afraid this was going to be a problem. But I had my phone with me where I had lots of pictures on. Then I got called to the first window. I had to give our marriage certificate + translation and my birth certificate. Because we are already married for more than 3 years the man in front of the window told me I would be receiving an IR-1 visa instead a CR-1 visa. Once I receive my green card it will be valid for 10 years instead of 2 years. After he checked all the papers I had to do some finger printing and could take a seat. I didn't even sit down for 2 minutes before I got called to go to the next window where I was having my interview. I had my interview with a very friendly, but strict CO. He first asked me to raise my hand and promise to tell the truth adn then he took fingerprints again. After that he started to ask the first question in Spanish since my wife is also Mexican. I responded in Spanish and the CO seemed happy that I also spoke a little bit Spanish. Then he asked quite a lot of questions about how we met and where we married. Also he asked how I know my wife loves me, and how my wife knows I love her. Also he accepted the pictures that were on my phone. After answering those simple questions for me the CO discovered that the Tax return including the W2 was not enough. He asked me to send by e-mail a Tax transcript of our co-sponsor. So I got a 221g refusal, but the CO said it was just a ''technicality''. After submitting this Tax transcript via e-mail they would issue me a visa. Because my co-sponsor couldn't get the Tax transcript online he ordered the Tax transcript via mail. The transcript arrived on Monday February 11, 2019. After that I submitted the Tax transcript by e-mail right away. On February 14 my visa is finally issued. Now I can start planning to go to the US soon. :D Rating : Very Good
