After many calls and service requests, I got my interview letter exactly a year to my priority date 03/26/2012. My interview was at 8am in New Orleans. I was called for my interview about 8:10am and was done within 10 minutes. The interviewer was a very nice lady. The whole interview was pleasant. She asked if my husband had come with me....both my husband and daughter had. I got all my civics questions correct as well as reading and writing tests. The interviewer (a very nice lady) didnt ask for any additional evidence or info. This might be as I had been married for more then 5 years by the time I had my interview. I could have gone to an oath ceremony 2 days after the interview but we had to get back home (5hrs away) for work. |

Embassy Review : |
10th August 2007: I got the embassy about 20 minutes early and only had to que for about 15 mintues. When I went into the embassy I was given a number and went to take a seat. I waited about 30 minutes before I got called to the first window. The lady was American and didn't exactly radiate happiness but who can blame her? she was at work after all!! I gave her all the required documents/forms etc and paid for the visa. With no problems, I went and sat back down in the waiting area. After about another 30 mintues wait, in which I got talking to a couple of people, I was called again. The lady asked for more documents/forms and then asked some questions...how I met my fiance? Where he worked? etc etc. She started to hound me about one particular detail about how I got to know my fiance....she was trying to trip me up im sure but there was no chance of that seeing as she had nothing to trip me up with! After the 'questioning'..she said okay that's fine. Wanting a clearer statement than that I asked if that meant I was approved?...she said 'Yes, you are approved'...though she didn't exactly look happy about it. Over joyed...I skipped all the way to pay for my visa delivery. I left the embassy with the biggest smile on my face...I had that smile up until the day my fiance and I got married....and now it's even bigger!!! |

Embassy Review : |
It was quite busy so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. The officer who delt with me was very nice. He asked how I met my fiance and we joked about a bit. The another officer collected me and took me to a secure room so they could look over my petition. The officer who walked with me was really nice and we chatted about England and how he liked the pubs. I waited in the room less than 10 minutes and was called to desk where another male officer was sorting out my petition. He said there wasn't a problem and congratulations! I was given my passport back and off I went to meet up with my fiance who was waiting for me.
The whole process was easy and all the officers were very friendly! WAY better than any of my Atlanta experiences. 10/10 for Houston! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
