Comments : Gave packet to immigration officer and was quickly processed and sent to additional processing room. There they went over documents for about 30 minutes and reminded us to get married within 90 days. Officer joked that fiance still had time to change her mind. Overall the process was smooth and personnel was friendly.

Comments : Went in for interview in San Juan Field Office. Waited about 20 min to be attended. The case officer was friendly. Asked questions about how we had met and asked my wife to confirm information from the packet. Officer said everything was OK but gave us an RFE to perform medical exam again.

My wife had done her medical exam in the DR for the original K1 visa, but did not get the vaccines. When she arrived in PR, we got the vaccines from a civil surgeon and he filled out only the part regarding vaccines. Unfortunately, it seems he did not fill out the form correctly, thus the RFE.

Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 1, 2019
Embassy Review : Arrived around 7:30am for and 8am interview. Waited in a small line outside and was directed towards another line where we waited about 20 min. At the window they asked for my fiance's passport, medical results, police certificate and birth certificate. They gave us a number and told us to wait by the interview windows. Waited about an hour or less before being called. Was interviewed by a nice young man. The interview was quick and conducted in Spanish. He asked how long ago and how we met. He asked about wedding plans, but we just mentioned that we were planning on marrying within 90 days and he didn't ask to elaborate. He l didn't ask for any additional evidence or the affidavit of support. He then informed us we were approved and where to pickup the visa. Overall very good experiences and it was much faster than expected. We were in and out in under 1.5 hours.
Rating : Very Good

Question lol i just noticed ur timeline.. i am also a dominican republic filer. i am wondering IF the embassy sends an email that you need for the medical? Or can I just simply take the ds160 confirmation and embassy interview confirmation to the medical center. I am waiting for tuesdays shipment (03/05/2019) for my petition to be sent from NVC to the embassy. And also do they send any email on directions? Lol or we have to do our own research. Any guidance would help!

Hi Gc0988, My fiance went to Servicios Medicos Consulares and they asked her for the email sent by the embassy with the case number starting in SDO in addition to the appointment confirmation. As far as directions, they didn't really send any regarding medical. My fiance just showed up at Servicios Medicos Consulares and paid $275. They gave her the results about 5 days later.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
