The interview was initially scheduled for 19-Feb-2019 but embassy rescheduled it for 28-Feb-2019. Once the embassy receives the approved petition, they review it and send an email to the petitioner about the interview date as the petitioner or the beneficiary do not select the interview date. Visa fees has to be paid at the embassy by cash (in QAR or USD), credit card, or debit card (Doha bank debit cards was not accepted so I paid cash).
Carry only necessary documents (X-Ray and CD provided by Doha Clinic was not checked and they said it not required as they already have received the reports electronically). Reach one hour before your interview as security checks take time.
After all the security checks, when you reach the consular section, you are given a list and asked the arrange the documents as per the list. Carry only relevant documents. No need to carry huge folder with tons of evidences as you have already submitted them before and your petition is approved.
You are provided with a token number. Once you arrange all your documents and your number is called, the person at the counter will ask you to provide the documents one by one and arrange in their file. Once you submit all the documents you will be asked to pay the visa fees and wait for your interview.
My interview was conducted by a lady. The interviewer called my name and confirmed it. I was asked to take an oath followed by fingerprinting. The interview went on for approximately 15-20 min where the lady asked about myself and the petitioner. When and how we met. About our relationship. If I was married or ever married. If I have children. If the petitioner is or was married. Where does the petitioner live and do professionally now? What will I do when I go to US? Whether we are engaged or already married? When is the wedding and what type of wedding will it be? etc. After asking all these questions and reviewing the documents, the lady congratulated me and said that the visa is "approved" and I will be notified about the collection of the passport with the visa. She notified me that I will be provided with a packet that should be opened only by the immigration officer. The lady asked me if I have any questions. I only asked if I have to go to the Aramex office or the Aramex will deliver the passport and packet to me. I was told that I will have to collect it from the Aramex location that I selected during Aramex registration.
The interview process was smooth and the officials were very cooperative.
I entered US on 08-May-2019 at Dallas International Airport. My immigration took less than 10 min. I submitted my passport, boarding pass, the immigration packet and customs declaration form to the immigration officer. The officer returned my boarding pass and customs declaration form. I asked if I need to give the X-ray and CD and I was told that is not needed and its for you. The officer performed my fingerprinting and photo. Asked the purpose of the visit. Stamped the passport, wrote a date and gave back the passport. It was quick, simple and hasslefree. |

Also, if you have questions and if you call them, they probably won't answer it on phone. The best way is to email them. They might not reply immediately but will definitely reply. Keep your question precise and to the point. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
