I arrived through Houston IAH,went through the long immigration queue and gave the brown envelope to the immigration officer. My fingerprint and picture were taken and I was transferred to a process office. When it was my turn,I was only asked when are we getting married? And my passport was stamped. |

The only thing I noticed was that when you are transferred to the processing office (in company of another officer of course),your file will either be dropped on "SOFT" or "HARD" deck for the processing officer to know how to treat your case I guess. But the office also process other visa categories too.I was there with mostly South/Central Americans and an Indian woman. I was the only K-1 visa holder there. |

My Green card interview went smoothly. The only thing she asked for in the stack of documents we had with us was just the proof of living together. The IO was more focused on my wife (USC), asking her all kinds of questions about me : The names of my parents ( which she could not pronounce), how was my country when she visited ?, how did we meet ?,where do I work? ( I had my EAD since the end of last year),my phone number and my D.OB.
Then she said she had to review our document that she couldn't approve us on the spot.My status changed to " New Card Is Being Produced" 2 days later.
NOTE: Your interview starts from moment the I.O welcomes you from the entrance of the hallway NOT when you all get to his/her office. Your responses to the small talk in the hallway ( and your body language) and his/her quick impression of you both as a couple is a build-up to what he/she is going to ask from both of you as soon as you sit down.
Good luck everyone! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
