Comments : Interview was very brief, and the staff very pleasant. Visa receipt was delayed a few days due to 221g suspension (based on inadequate proof of income in the Affidavit of Support). However we sent the 2006 tax return to the US Embassy on Monday June 11th and I received the visa on Friday June 15th, just in time for my flight on Saturday.

Comments : An hour after landing at LAX I was standing outside having a celebratory cigarette with my stamped passport and CR1 in hand.

On arrival I explained to one of the staff that I was immigrating, and she directed me to an immigration point with no queues. I gave my fingerprints, signed 4 pieces of paper, then went to collect my checked luggage. On returning to the immigration station my passport was handed back to me and I was told I would receive my greencard and SSN in a few weeks time.

All in all a fast, painless and exciting experience.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
