Embassy Review : The interview at the American Embassy in Peru for the K1 visa should be smooth sailing, as long as you have all the proper documentation organized and you are truthfull.

I accompanied my fiancee to the interview and this helped her a lot since she was very nervous, and needed some guidance during the interview. It is vital for both of you attend the interview because it will make things easier for the consul with the decision making process.

Initially, the fiancee is called to window 10 were she must provide the DS-156, DS-156K, Police Reports and Birth Certificate, as well as the Affidavit of Support. Later on, usually both the petitioner and fiancee are called to door # 15 were there is a brief interview with the consul. The questions are straight forward and simple... nothing to be really concerned about.

My fiancee and I were able to celebrate the issuance of the K1 visa!!! We received it in 48 hours, and it must be picked up at the local DHL office in San Isidro. I am a happy camper, and believe the American Embassy in Peru is fair and efficient.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
