Consulate Review: Guayaquil, Ecuador
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 17, 2018
Embassy Review : My husband and I arrived early to the interview and were allowed in. There was not a line to go through both security checkpoints, at that time. When we entered we were told to sit in the waiting area and listen for my husband's name to be called. We were called about an hour after arriving to a window where a lady took our paperwork, proof of marriage, and fingerprints. She asked a few questions and she was kind of rude. and impatient Then we were told to sit again and listen for my husband's name for his interview. His name was called about 30 mins after. The interview was held at another window. The guy that was interviewing us was nice, calm, and joked around. He asked us how we met and even gave him the advice to get his citizenship before moving abroad. That interview only lasted for about 5 mins. He told us we were approved at the end of the interview. His passport was ready to be picked up at the DHL office about a week later. You cannot bring cell phones or electronics into the consulate. They have a water fountain and restrooms available.
