Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 8, 2019
Embassy Review : I (the petitioner) went to the embassy in Islamabad with my wife (beneficiary) on Feb 4, 2019. Interview was scheduled at 7 am and we were out by 10 am. The interview itself took only 10 minutes and most of the questions were very simple. At the end of the interview, consular officer said that we will get our visa in one to two weeks and not to worry too much about it. Overall, it was a good experience. The staff was friendly as well.

Tip: Make sure you bring 3 copies of the passport biographic page for each person who is visiting the embassy, even if you are not the applicant.
Rating : Good

They asked my wife the following questions: - When did you guys first meet? - Is it arranged marriage or love? - Who was present at the time of engagement? - How many times did your husband visit you after marriage. - Are you sure that your husband is not married before? - Show me wedding photos and random pictures of the two of you.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
