Green Card Received :
Comments : We put an inquiry in mid October 2022 as to why our case is taking so long (it has been over 3 years since my husband was approved for his temporary green card.) We just received a letter Dec 30 2022 saying the conditions had been lifted but no mention of the permanent green card? We submitted another inquiry Dec 25 since we had not received a reply yet. We will have to be the squeaky wheel at this point.
1/3/23 - Our case has been transferred to another office?! We are waiting on a letter with details why. Not sure why a copy can't be sent via email.
2/3/23 - They are ready to schedule us for an interview (finally!!!) They are sending a letter with details.

Event Description

Embassy Review : This is a small but friendly field office. We had to wait about 15 minutes past our interview time which was kind of expected. Our officer was friendly and joked a lot with us. As our case was straight forward, he did not ask for any of the evidence we had brought. It seemed to just be a formality where he had to ask us the questions that we'd answered on the I-485 such as have you ever been involved in a group that wanted to overthrow the government, have you ever been involved in human trafficking or related to anyone involved in it, have you ever laundered money, and other such things. He approved us on the spot and said we would get the card in a couple of weeks.
Harassment Level : Very Good

We received notice of a delay in the Adjustment of Status application & the temporary green card has been extended by 18 months. Husband had to to DDS (previously DMV) to update his driver's license which was expiring since it is tied to the green card. It was quick & painless tho. They also said he didn't need to do another biometrics appt so that is good (we hope.)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
