Hi, my fiancé is in Cuba as well. May I ask why they sent you an RFE? Also, have you heard how long the wait is for an interview in Guyana? I heard it was up to 3 months.
Thanks!
Chris

Hi. They sent me an RFE requesting my divorce decree, but I had already submitted it in the original packet. I just submitted it a second time. I know people who were scheduled very quickly in Guyana. The last person who requested an appt was told they do not have any appts available at the moment and she will be notified. I am not sure what that wait will be.

Ugh. That sucks about them not having any appts available. Maybe a miracle will happen and they would just waive our interviews. :)

Hi,
Congrats that you have your appointment date. Sorry that it's in March. How far in advance do you think you will fly down there for the medical exam?

I just saw your comment from 1/14. Thank you. Yeah, I'm not sure why it is so far out, but at this point I am going with it. I will be scheduling appt for the Friday or Monday before.

Cool. Good luck. BTW, I've heard of people checking back and looking for cancellations sooner than the original date.

Thank you. I asked them and they did say I have that option. It was a little disappointing, but I might just go with it. It will give me time to book tickets in advance, etc. I also plan to do document check at the Havana embassy so I will be going there before Guyana.

Yeah we hope to do that as well in Habana. That's a great service!
Also, the hotels there are pretty expensive but there are some Airbnb apartments for only about $40-60 a night. Marriott wants $250/night. I heard also that we need to do the medical about 72 hours before interview because it's been taking some of the tests a few days to come back and people are being refused at the embassy.

Yes, I have a place recommended by a friend who interviewed there. I emailed to schedule the medical appt already. I will see what happens. Good luck! Looks like USCIS processed your case quickly.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
