Port of Entry Review

Port of Entry : Chicago
POE Date : 2018-01-11

Biometrics Taken :
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : We flew in together from Manila and entered through Chicago. I went with my fiance through the "visa" holder line and we filled out 1 declaration form. The only question the officer had was how we knew each other (after giving him the declaration form and our passports). He processed my entry and then asked for the "packet", went through it, documented what he needed to, stamped is passport and reminded us we had 90 days to get married. Thank you!

Comments : The interview was quick and simple. Sworn it, asked to verify his name and birthday. Then he just went through the application and asked the questions to which was a yes/no answer. He then asked if we had any joint bank accounts or such to which we did have. We gave him those copies and he put in the file. He told us we were approved, but he needed to wait to receive the medical file. CBP did not create a file for it so he had to request it from archives. Just over a week later and we received the approval letter and then a few days later, the ARC.

Event Description

Embassy Review : My fiance's interview was on 12/20 said the process was very smooth. His sister had gone with him and waited outside with his phone and such so he could tell me the results as soon as it was over. The first window was quick and just asked for the CENOMAR, Affidavit of Support and NBI Clearance. Then waited for about 30 minutes for bio and another 30 to speak to the officer. He only asked basic questions of name, partners' name how we meet and that's about it. Interview was only a few minutes and was approved.javascript:emoticon('')
The status for the visa did not change until the following Wednesday (closed for the Christmas holidays) to Administrative Processing and was Issued that Friday. It was delivered to 2go on the 2nd at MOA. We booked a flight for him to arrive to the US on the 11th since beginning of year travel is very heavy and difficult to get good flights.

Thank you! Just wish they would have processed just a few days faster to make this last back to the embassy. But now have to wait 2 more weeks for it to go in the next batch. But so happy we can finally see light!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
