Embassy Review : Summary of the interview process:

They stage everyone across the street from the embassy, then call them by appointment time to enter. There were at least 50 people in his group at 7:15 am. He was inside for about 3 hours, but the actual interview took 10 minutes with one interviewer. She didn’t want to see entire proof of relationship packet, but asked to see sections like photos and WhatsApp conversations. She asked him a series of rapid fire questions like:

-Who is calling you to the US
-What’s her name
-When did your relationship become more intimate
-How many times has she been to India (this is when he mentioned that I was actually across the street waiting for him)
-What about her divorce
-Do your parents approve
-Did you speak to her parents
-What are your marriage plans (this is when he explained that we had originally planned to live in India)
-Who introduced you
-What does your fiancé do (the CO tried to trick him by saying that I owned a shop, so he had to correct her and say that my friend Pia owns a shop not me)

She pointed at photos and WhatsApp screen grabs and said:

-Who is this? (For example, my nephew, my niece, my parents, his best friend, my dogs, etc)

The CO was very professional and efficient. my fiance didn’t feel like she was being antagonistic. But she was very prepared and tried to ask him trick questions to make sure he wasn’t lying.

It definitely helped that I made the trip to Mumbai to support my fiance. It makes the relationship look more genuine if you can tell the CO that your fiance is waiting for you outside and can answer any questions immediately if necessary.

Visa was approved on the spot and was mailed to Bangalore within 5 business days.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
