Comments : At the POE my fiancé spoke to two separate people. The first person he spoke with asked him if we had a wedding date, how we met and what jobs we both had. He was then brought in to a waiting area while the second guy checked over his paperwork. He came back a minute later and asked him a couple similar questions and told him good luck. The point of entry took a total of 6 mins, however, since we flew in to Newark on a Friday at 530p the line to get to customs took the longest.

Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 6, 2018
Embassy Review : I’m writing this on behalf of my fiancé who went through the interview at the Embassy in London. He arrrived around 1030a for an 11a appointment. By 1130a he was FaceTiming me to tell me he was approved! Took about 20/30 mins for the entire interview process from the time they called him up to the window until he was approved.

He had his medical at Knightsbridge on Wednesday, June 27th so we gave them 7 business days, including today, but the embassy hasn’t received the results yet. They informed him he’s approved based on his medical results and said it would take 3 business days for the visa stamp and he should expect to receive his passport back in 1-2 weeks - he lives in Northern Ireland.

My fiancé said the London embassy was very laid back and it was a really good experience. One of the gentleman at the windows was training so they were apologetic and thanked him for waiting even though he wasn’t there for very long at all. Once he was called up for the interview portion they asked him 3 questions:

1. In 2013 you were in America on what visa? (My fiancé and I met when he was living in the states on the J-1 visa)
2. Where did you and your fiancé meet?
3. Do you plan on living in an apartment or house once you’re in the states?

They told them he was approved, just waiting on medical, and he asked if that was it!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
