Consulate Review: Dominican Republic

Event Description
Review Date : November 19, 2018
Embassy Review : Our appointment was at 9 but we got there around 6:45. We Ubered there so we had to find a place to go leave our electronics and make copies. The office we went to is a block away, they tried to skyrocket prices for us so we said we’d go somewhere else and sure enough the price went down. We entered the line for residency. Once through security we went to sit in these outside benches, after about 30 minutes we entered the main building. They gave us a number as we walked in. In the new line this is where we gave them the medical records, passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate and appointment letter. We were then told to sit and wait. Our number was called and my husband was asked 4-5 questions. 3 minutes later we were approved. I was only asked if my husband had any children. Our official was very nice and she laughed with us. Just smile, be happy, and tell the truth. It didn’t even feel like we waited 3 hours. The whole process is very organized!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
