Consulate Review: Malaysia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 24, 2020
Embassy Review : Appointment was set at 10am.
No line outside the embassy as routine consular services are unavailable due to COVID-19.

IC/Driving license surrendered in the registration guard house to collect electronic devices after interview.
Security check done twice before being led to the room.

There was only one counter pre-checking documents, arranged it according to the email sent by embassy to ease the process.

Interview was done in another counter, oath taken before interview started. Some questions that I remembered:
1) How did you meet?
2) How many times did your fiance visit you?
3) How many times did you visit your fiance?
4) Where does he live?
5) What does he works as?
6) What are your wedding plans?
7) When will you be entering the states?

Interview took less than 10 mins.
Rating : Very Good

I have listed some that I remembered in the consulate review above :) overall, it was pretty straightforward -- they have pre-read the whole packet of documents we submitted.

Ok.thank you..sorry I had missed it before.. Was it normal interview or did you expedite it?since routine visas aren't processing yet. TIA... good luck for the future😀 stay safe

No worries, thank you for your congratulatory message :) It's normal interview, NVC started sending IR1/CR1 and K1 approved applications to embassy back in Sept/Oct... good luck to you too!

How soon do you plan on entering the U.S?
Mexilaysian on 2020-11-27 said:
I have still some loose ends to tie, and my job has a 3 months notice period. I'm looking into either March/April

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
