This afternoon I got my email and text messages that I have an RFE but I have to wait for the letter to arrive in the mail to see what evidence I need to submit.

They have the MOS number at the NVC but I haven't received the paperwork. It's not yet in Moscow.

I don't know when the NVC received the application. I never got a letter or notification that it was received. It went from the NOA2 to the letter from the NVC stating that it was sent to the consulate.

How difficult was it to schedule your interview? Any tips?

The process was not difficult but stressful like you don't know anything, no information, then all of a sudden it's all happening so fast! He called every day and all they would say was 'Nothing available'. I don't understand why they can not schedule weeks in advance. Once a person has a date then they could relax. We won't have to call every day. I think if everyone is calling every day it slows the process but we have no choice. However, I don't work there so don't understand. I'm sure there is a reason. He also checked on the site every day and it was there that he saw the opening and took it right that moment even though it was short notice. Unfortunately, my only advice is to keep checking and calling and don't be picky. Grab any appointment as soon as you see it available or someone else will. Have everything together in your bag ready to go. Maybe you know these things. You will get an appointment, I'm sure, and the relief and happiness you feel when you do will be enormous!

Congratulations on receiving your visa!
It seems like it took a long time from interview to visa receipt... I thought it only was supposed to take 3-5 days?

They told him two weeks. It had to go to Yakutsk so it always takes much longer. Finally, he went to the post office himself to get it.

Whoa! He lives waaay out there! So, I will change my plans to two weeks instead of one week!
Exciting times for you two 😊 again, congratulations!

Yes, way out there! I'm so glad he got the visa. I don't think I could survive Yakutsk! Thank you for your well wishes. :)

For those of you in Virginia.... It seem you can drive on a foreign licence with translation up to 6 months.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
