We were waiting on the medical to be sent to the Consulate, which put us in Administrative Processing for over a week post visa approval. This is normal if your medical is after your interview, or you had a hick up post medical exam. Consulate processing time is 10 days in that case. |
Processing Estimates/Stats : |
Your I-129f was approved in 186 days from your NOA1 date.
Your interview took 239 days from your I-129F NOA1 date. |

Liam waited about an hour in a room with other immigrants. Make sure if you book a connecting flight, take into account the time you will have to wait for immigration officer to take your packet!
Book a longer layover!
They asked him if he visited me prior, then took his medical packet and stamped his date of entry into passport. |

Interview was pretty thorough. They went through our entire original K1 packet, and asked my husband who is the foreigner all the Yes or No questions, that was after we were asked to talk about ourselves.
Some things they also did:
-Asked to name people in pictures.
-Names of family members.
-General lifestyle questions...cooking, going out together etc.
-Date and place of wedding.
-Plans for the future.
It was a bit nerve wracking because the interviewer was hard to read, but all was well.
We included lease agreement, phone bills, car insurance, med insurance and life insurance as proof of marriage. Joint bank account would have helped they say, which we had, but it was too recent and he wasnt on the statement yet. Just bring as much proof as you can.
A week later came the notice that we were approved! |

The process is fairly easy. My fiance had no trouble finding the Consulate and followed the checklist correctly. Id say he was in and out in half an hour. They asked him how we met, thats about it!
If you print and follow the checklist, its a very easy process. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
