Embassy Review : |
On behalf of my fiance Sean Downey: "The entire experience took 25-30 minutes. I went through security which was very similar to that of airport. Then they told me to go upstairs to floor one, and take two lefts. Then there was a screen kiosk where I checked in. Then I went to a booth and they asked for my documents. I sat down with my number for 5 mins then they called me back to speak with another person at the booth. He was so nice and relaxed. He asked how we met, why I was in my hometown in the first place (she was there on vacation), why we chose to live in the US over England, describe the proposal, talked about how I have been to Chicago Cubs games (he was a dodger fan), if we had wedding plans yet, and that was about it. He only took financially the 134 and literally nothing else. Then he said your visa is approved and you will get it back in 3-5 business days" |

Timeline Comments: 6Hi! I had my interview the same day as your husband. (June 17). I was approved but haven't been scheduled for the Oath Ceremony yet. Going by your timeline here, I assume your husband hasn't either?
Hi, nope, we havent received any date yet. once we do, we will update it above. i am not surprised though we havent as they said it can take 2-3 weeks! are you in chicago?
Yes I'm also in Chicago. I'm glad I asked you because they didn't tell me it would take 2-3 weeks until the ceremony gets scheduled. I'll also update my timeline and also let you know once I get mine scheduled! Thank you.
Hey! I just got my Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony! It's scheduled for August 8th. Did you get yours?
Not yet! Thanks for letting us know. Means hopefully ours is soon!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
