UPDATE....My husband got the call on 09/10/08 to submit passport. He sent that on 09/11/08 via AMEX and was told within a week, he should have visa in hand. Will update timeline once he has it. insha allaah

Comments : We had received an interview date for 09/25/2011 but got to looking and this was on a Sunday, not a Thursday!! Called uscis again and then received a letter that our interview date was set for 09/01/2011 Thursday!! We went to Louisville, Ky the night before, because we live 2 1/2 hours away and our interview was set for 9:30am (cst). Any who, Officer Wolfe interviewed me first for approx 20 mins or so, then she brought in Qasim. Basically the same questions were asked and she let us know that she was removing his conditions and should receive his Green card in 4 to 8 weeks. Yay!!!! Now on for citizenship, Officer Wolfe was very helpful and Qasim can apply approx. 09/12/2011 but we will wait due to funds for that application!!

Event Description

Embassy Review : This is his interview and the way he explained it to me.

Qasim was one of the last ones at the embassy. He had already been 4 times interviewed during the day. They mostly asked about his first marriage. Like >>when did you marry first time? Was she pakistani? How long was you married? So that was about his first wife!

The only thing they asked about our relationship was >> How did you meet? When did you marry? Where did you marry? Why does your mom live in Karachi? Do you talk to your wife? ****Why don't you live with your wife?? ( duh) Why don't you live with your wife in a different country??

So overall, it wasn't all that great. He was given a blue slip of paper for AP/221G and also that we were Temp Refused due to>> We have to submit 2 documents back to the embassy and that he is also put on AP. Qasim did ask if they would start AP now and the CO said YES, that is their process. The CO said even without those documents , we still have to do our process of AP?! He was told that the AP would take a minimum of 6 weeks.

He had a very long day at the embassy and this was the turn out of it. So, we are working to get the documents done and back to the embassy ASAP and so insha allaah he will get his visa soon insha allaah!!!!

Thanks
Aisha

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
