Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 10, 2018
Embassy Review : The easiest part of the process but still a little nerve-racking.

The interview was scheduled at 9:30am.

I was in the embassy at around 8:45 am (took southwest rail to Vauxhall station then walked alongside the riverbank).
The embassy was relatively easy to get to, I highly suggest taking the public transport rather than driving.

I arrived in the south pavilion entrance and my DS160 was scanned in, then went on to security. ( PS do not bring laptop computers).
I then lined up at reception and the lady behind the desk asked me for the following. DS160, passport and confirmation page. (She then gave me a number to watch out for).

I was then asked to proceed to the 1st floor then make a left turn then left again for the immigrant visa waiting area. I sat in the waiting room and there is only a few people in comparison to the non-immigrant side which was quite full that day.
My number was called and i proceeded to the interview window. The man that was taking all my paperworks was very nice and smiley. He asked for the DS160, Birth Certificate, Affidavit of support and Police clearance. He was then asking me about my fiance in terms of what he does, does being a flight attendant help with your relationship, which airline do I work for, how long have I known him and if me or my fiance was married before.
I was then asked to sit down and wait for my number to pop up again.

20 minutes later, I was asked to go back and this is where the interview started. The officer that interviewed me was so lovely that he put my nerves at ease. He first asked me how did I know my fiance? I then responded that I met him on Tinder he then asked me if I was in San Diego that time. I then said yes, because you have to be in the same city for you guys to match. He then asked me if my fiance has visited London before? Have we travelled and if he is a part of my benefits with the airline? He then told me considering you will need your passport for your job have you informed your airline that you won't have it for the time being.

He then mentioned that my medical is not with them yet, he just said it all looks fine and approved pending the medical.

I then walked out with almost tears in my eyes when I called my fiance.

PS. The case status updated on the 9th of July to issued. It was first on AP then changed to ready then to AP again (changed to non-immigrant visa) then to issued.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: San Diego
Event Description
Entry Date : 2018-07-12
Embassy Review : Arrived at 18:55 and got out of the airport at approx 20:15

Took BA273 (LHR- SAN), as the only international flight arriving that day the process was faster than anticipated.
Cleared immigration and was asked what's the purpose of my visit. I then said I'm here on a k1 to marry my fiance.

He then too a photo and was escorted to a secondary room whilst being asked to wait.

One family was there when i arrived so was told to wait.

I then was called, was asked how did I know Jerome and how often have we've seen or been with each other.
I then explained that due to my job pretty much every week (approx) I get to be in San Diego.
The officer then asked me for some pictures if I have any ( I brought the photo album that we created for the interview but was not asked for it, pheww!)
That was it, she just explained to me that once we're married we need to apply or adjust the status ourselves as it is not done automatically.

Pretty smooth and painless process.

Goodluck to all lovely couples going through the same process
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
