I had read several reviews so I felt ready when it came to the day. We knew you could not take any electronics and I did not risk taking a purse but I did see some women with purses, I just took my binder with all my files. Our appointment was at 8:00am. We arrived by Uber at 7:30am. They had us wait outside in the order that we arrived. By 8:00am sharp they moved us to a line inside where we would go to a window when it was our turn and my fiance would turn in all that paperwork that was required of him (medical, police report....) and they gave us a number and asked us to go to a much larger waiting room and wait for our number to be called so we could go to another window where our interview would take place. This part is the nerve wrecking part since you are watching people approaching the windows and some are approved but some are not. Keep positive at all time! Keep each other calm it's the best way. We waited an hour and was called up at 9:00am. I have a friend that her official didn't speak to her at all, as a matter of fact she told me that he was rather rude, so I was ready for that but to my delight we had a young american woman that was very sweet and friendly. She asked us how we met, when was the fist time we met in person, how many times I had visited him,if I have met his family and how are they doing, who did I live with and who did he live with, what I did for a living and she said we were approved. My fiance and I stared at each other for a few seconds because we definitely did not expect her to be so kind nor for the experience to be so painless but it was. We waited for a taxi outside the consulate to take us back to the hotel we were staying at since we had no cell phones to call an Uber again. She told us we would receive the visa within a few weeks but I had read on here several times that it barely takes a week. We received it 9 days after and that was including weekends. Best of luck to you all...stay positive! |

Timeline Comments: 1 PA2DR on 2018-12-31 said: Hello there and congrats on your approval. I see that it took 10 days for your visa to be given. Ive seen cases where it was much sooner. Did you have it mailed or picked up? We set or pick up location at the Galeria 360. Just curious thanks.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
