Embassy Review : |
The interview at the embassy went very smoothly. I had read reviews before I went for it so I knew what to expect. I was at their newly opened embassy in London (march, 2018). I arrived half an hour before my appointment and followed the directions emailed to me the day before my interview from the embassy.
I went through airport type security on arrival and was directed by staff from then on. The area for k1 visas was around the corner from the main area and had a handful of people so I didn't have to wait long to be called forward to give my police report, birth certificate, passport and affidavit of support to a very nice man. I was informed at this point that they had not received my medical but the process could continue. He gathered my information and I sat down again to wait to be called for the actual interview section. After about 15 minutes my number appeared on the screen and I went to the booth. It was not as formal as I imagined and you literally stand at a window like the post office!
He asked me how I met my fiance, had we met each others families, how many times he had been here, why we were getting married in america and not the uk. It was all very simple questions and I didn't have to show any of the heap of evidence I had brought with me. The interview lasted approx 5 minutes, maybe less. I was told that my visa was approved and would take 3 weeks to receive. The embassy had not received the medical so I think they were accounting for the time that would take. The staff were very friendly and helpful and overall I was there for about 40 minutes. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
