Hello Pinetime , we got a RFE from NVC asking the same documents , my wife proof of domicile and her 1099"s. May I ask you what proof of domicile you send to NVC? My wife sent just her Drivers license, since we live abroad. Do you think they will acept?

Hey Edtab, We submitted as much information as possible. It was quite a while ago so I will do my best to recall what we submitted.
Credit Card Statements, Bank account statements, Affidavit of support (written by myself), car registration, car insurance, auto title, DMV Record, Affidavit from my doctor, Affidavit of support written by my parents, property taxes on my parents home, voting registration.
Obviously this is a really long list of things, but we did not want to get rejected again so we submitted as much as possible. From my understanding, simply showing that you are still registered as living somewhere (State ID) is not the same as proving/maintaining domicile. They want to see that even though you were living abroad, you always intended on returning "home" to your domicile. Submit as may documents as possible that show you are still tied to the country. In my case, owning and maintaining a car was my way of showing I still had assets in the country which I did not want to abandon. The affidavit's were written as support showing my intention to return. For example, my parents explained we would be living with them when first arriving. My doctor wrote a letter explaining I was planning on returning to continue my health care.
Hope this helps
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
