My interview was set for 9 o'clock, I arrived at half past 7 and there was a queue already! I was allowed in immediately, so that was nice.
Handed in all the paperwork as requested in the K3 interview letter, and I was done by 9 o'clock.
The gentleman who took my paperwork was telling me that all the documents were not handed in, and asked me where my copies where. (I handed him 2 seperate stacks!). Then he asked me a couple of questions, and told me that my paperwork was not complete and I better be truthfull, I then explained that as I was denied entry, and allowed to withdraw my application for admission the last time, that certainly should not qualify for dates visiting the US, then he told me I was supposed to write that on the DS230 part II and then I could explain it to the consular officer. (I felt six years old for a moment). He then promptly told me that I did not hand in the DS230 part II, I explained that it was not included in my packet 3, and he insisted that it was, but it wasn't, so he gave me one to fill in. Then he had a problem with my photos(not correct size, but decided that he will be able to 'crop' them. He was not rude, just very short and very formal.
I had to be back at 13:00 for my actual interview with the consular officer. Four hours of waiting! When I got back at half past twelve I was first in line. The consular officer saw me at half past one. I was a wreck!
Luckily he was really friendly and that put me at ease, then he put me under oath and asked me three questions only- how long have I known my husband? Where does he work? When last did we see each other? Then he promptly took out his rubber stamp, and took my passport and said: You won't be able to use this anymore. (I nearly died, I though he had stamped 'denied' or something). Then he said I have just one more question for you-will you be able to pick up your k3 visa at 4 o'clock tomorrow? I think he saw the relief on my face immediately! He also explained that I will get an envelope which I must not open, he was real stern about that, I nodded in agreement and told him I knew not to open it. He told me that when I enter the US I will have to go to secondary inspection (he actually said- 'again') and that I would still have to adjust status in the US. I found him very helpfull and polite.
All in all everybody was very friendly (even the DHL guy, he was really trying to help me get my visa delivered asap). And the nicest part was the thumbs up I received from the gentleman who took in my paperwork, and he was smiling, that was real nice to see.
The 4 hour wait inbetween things however was not so nice!
I had tons of evidence of relationship, and evidence of support etc, but they did not ask me for any of that, not even the affidavit of support.(I think the big black lever archfile filled with tags scared them!)
